Morgan & Morgan assisted the shareholders of Ernesto Berard, S.A. a producer of meat products located in Volcan, Chiriqui province, Republic of Panama in its sale to Grupo Nacional de Chocolates, S.A. ("GNC"), a Colombia company with focus on producing, distributing and selling chocolates, roasted and milled coffee, cereals, pasta, meat, food for human and animal consumption, sausages, candies, sugar, honey, and crackers. The acquisition was carried out through a Panamanian subsidiary of GNC. Partner Francisco Arias G. acted as lead counsel and was assisted by associate Elizabeth Heurtematte (at M&M's Panama offices) and associates Eidy De Puy and Oliver Candanedo (at M&M's David, Chiriqui's office). Also involved in the transaction was Alvaro Aleman of Icaza, González Ruiz & Aleman on behalf of GNC.
