Beginning in the late 1970s, and continuing through the 1980s, Panama City became the premier international banking center of the Americas.
Ship cargo business originating in the Pacific is serviced by modern port facilities in the city’s Balboa area; in turn, several ports operating on the Caribbean side of the isthmus provide similar cargo management services.
Panama’s Tocumen International Airport is located on the eastern outskirts of the city, and is easily accessible via a modern four-lane highway (i.e., only 15 minutes by car from M&M’s main offices).
Panama City is only 77 km from the Colon Free Zone, one of the largest duty-free zones in the Americas.
